Extra – Curricular Clubs

At Maple we offer a wide range of popular extra-curricular clubs, run by carefully chosen external providers or by school staff.  These range from Football, Netball and Tennis to Construction, Art, Fencing, French, Chess and Karate amongst others which we hope will encourage most children to take part.  We are constantly reviewing our offer and listen to children’s requests, taking care to ensure we are providing activities for the different year groups. We also offer free places to children who receive free school meals. The clubs support the children’s own personal development with opportunities to experience new activities, developing interests which they can follow out of school and acquiring new skills such as teamwork and communication whilst working with new and existing friends.

• Book Fair - Tuesday 3^rd November Hall out of use AFTER school
• School Photos - Wedensday 4^th November No Clubs AM or Lunchtime
• Book Fair - Wedensday 4^th November Hall out of use AFTER school
• Book Fair - Thursday 5^th November Hall out of use AFTER school
• Book Fair - Friday 6^th November Hall out of use AFTER school

External clubs

If you have any questions regarding a club, please email the club directly.
It is the club’s responsibility to email parents to inform them of any cancelled sessions.

New clubs starting this term

• Art Shed will be hosting an Art Class on a Wednesday after school. Please note that this club will finish at 4.15pm. There will be two classes that run at the same time: Infants (Year 1-2) and Juniors (Year 3-6).
• NSG Clubs will be running a Gymnastics Club on a Monday Lunchtime for Years 1-3.
• Lila Broderick is back offering French Lessons to Year 1 on a Fridays at  lunchtime.
• Book Club for Year 3 & 4 - Ms Bersanelli is running this new class on a Tuesday morning.

Maple Sporting Clubs

You may be aware that the Government have decided to end the Sports Premium School Funding for schools from September 2026. (This has also coincided with Mr Ainsworth leaving us to become a teacher). The premium was a considerable amount of funding and allowed us to provide many activities, including some sports clubs, run by our Sports TA, without charging for them. 

Unfortunately, we have had to make the difficult decision to outsource some of these clubs, for which there will now be a charge, bringing them into line with all the other extra-curricular activities provided outside of the school day. 

We are currently confirming a club provider for Netball and Girls Football - once the details have been finalised we will provide an update.

We hope that you will continue to support the clubs and your children will continue to enjoy attending them.

Cross Country Squad with Mrs Astley

Training will be on a Tuesday morning before school. It is by invitation only. Parents and Carers will receive an email inviting pupils to be part of the squad by the end of the Summer Term.

Please note: If there is not enough staff to run a session or if the weather is poor, sessions will be cancelled at short notice. The school is not able to look after children if this occurs.
